On the morning of April 28, 2008, Kelle Jarka went shopping to purchase baby formula and coffee for he and his wife, Isabelle. When he returned home he found his house had been broken into and his wife beaten and left for dead.
Like most cases today, the police quickly made up their mind that the husband of the victim must have committed this terrible act.
Within one hour of receiving the 911 call, the police asked Kelle to come to police station to give his statement. In no time, the police began accusing Kelle and continued to question and accuse him for 14 hours, without ever reading him his rights.
After only three weeks of investigation, the police arrested Kelle and charged him with first degree murder.
At the time of the arrest
No additional areas of investigation were done by the police into any other possible suspects
No forensic material had been returned to indicate Kelle had committed the murder
